Live video streaming to a streaming platform with BoinxTV is relatively easy to set up.

Initial Setup (has to be done once)

Handling Video:

First, download our BoinxTV Video Sender Package and follow the installation instructions inside the disk image.
Next you will need the free 3rd party app Camtwist 3 BETA.
Launch BoinxTV and open the document you want to stream. Find the “BoinxTV Video Sender” layer in the layer repository at the bottom, add it on top of the layer stack and enable it. From now on, it will send everything below it to CamTwist. Save the document to have the Sender always enabled for this document. If you have multiple documents that you use for streaming, add the Sender to them as well.
Now open CamTwist, select “CamTwist” in the Menubar and Navigate to “Preferences”.
Here, select your desired streaming resolution (it is recommended to stick to the ones predefined).

Now quit Camtwist and relaunch it so the changes take effect. After CamTwist has re-launched, choose “Syphon” in the “Step 1” column. Skip “Step 2” and select “Syphon” in the upper box of “Step 3”. It will appear in the “Step 3” column. Select “BoinxTV” in the Syphon Server“ dropdown. Below the upper box, click “Save Setup” and name it e.g. “BoinxTV”. As the last step, click “Auto Load” at the bottom. Like this, Camtwist will always load these settings when it is launched, so this should have been the last time you needed to touch CamTwist. (It could be, that you have to re-select “BoinxTV” as the Syphon Server at the next start).

##Handling Audio: First, download Soundflower and install it. Next, open /Applications/Audio
Here, click the + button on the bottom left and choose “Create Aggregate Device”.

In the new pane, check “Soundflower 2Ch” and your preferred audio device for monitoring your shows audio. You can also rename the new device in the left column e.g. to “BoinxTV Output”.

Change back to BoinxTV, click the headphones on the top right and select the newly created aggregate device under “Playthrough Device”. Also make sure “Enable playthrough is checked.

This will send the BoinxTV audio output to both the virtual Soundflower audio device as well as to your headphones so you can listen to your shows audio as well as sending audio out. Save your document again so you don't have to make these settings the next time you want to stream. In the last step, choose “Soundflower 2Ch” in your streaming application as the audio input. It will then receive the audio output from BoinxTV. Save these settings as well to make sure you only have to set it up once. If you have multiple documents that you use for streaming, set the audio output just as you just did.

#Day to day use All previous steps only have to be performed once. In day to day use, all you need to worry about is starting 3 applications in the right order and setting up a Youtube Live Stream each session.

To do that, log in to your Youtube Live Events manager and select “New Live Event” on the top right. Now enter at least a title and make sure you select “Quick” as the type. When you are done, hit “Go live now” on the bottom right.

This will open a hangout window. Click the gear on top to select the camera and microphone. Here, select CamTwist as the camera and Soundflower (2ch) as the microphone, then click “Save”.

You will now see your BoinxTV output. Don't worry that it is flipped, this is only for preview purposes. The final stream will be in the right orientation.
Finally click “Start broadcast” and you are on air.
